Therapeutic Exercise

The incorporation of therapeutic exercise into a rehabilitation program is extremely important unless contraindicated. Therapeutic exercise helps to reduce pain and increased function in nearly all musculoskeletal injuries. But not all rehabilitation programs are the same. Occasionally a program is not successful. If that appears to be the way you’re heading here are some suggestions to prevent lack of success.

Here are some considerations:

  • Initial assessment
  • Secondary assessments
  • Poor exercise techniques
  • Lack of multidisciplinary approach
  • Poor supervision
  • Lack of modification of exercise for progression
  • Outdated techniques
  • Patient dropout rate
